Duplex heating

Duplex heating

A duplex is a house designed for two families. Two sections of the duplex are connected by a common roof and side walls, but each of them has its own front entrance and its own communications system. Duplex heating is rarely centralized: it is assumed that each family will independently select the appropriate type of heating system for themselves.
The question of whether heating is needed in a duplex is not worth it: the same standards are applied to it as to any other residential facility. According to GOST 30494-96, in winter, the temperature in the duplex rooms should not fall below +20ºS. If we take the norms that guide utilities, then in living rooms the temperature should be within + 20º … + 22ºS, in utility rooms not lower than + 18ºS, and in bathrooms up to + 25º.

Types of duplex heating

To maintain the temperature required by the standards, various types of duplex heating are used.

Water

Classic type: the house has a pipeline connected to the boiler. A heated coolant circulates through a closed system, most often it is water. Heat is transferred to the premises through radiators, the more there are and the higher the temperature of the coolant, the hotter it is in the premises. The boiler runs on gas or solid fuel, less often on electricity. Among the disadvantages of duplex water heating are the consumption of a large number of expensive energy carriers, high financial costs during the heating season, the complexity of designing and installing the system.

Electrical

You can also heat the duplex sections with modern electrical systems, for example, underfloor heating. Electrical equipment copes well with the main task: gradually the rooms warm up. In addition, it is possible to set a predetermined comfort temperature for each room, upon reaching which the appliances will automatically turn off. But this is one of the most expensive ways to heat a house. If you need economical heating of a duplex, you should pay attention to other solutions. For example, air systems.

Air

The principle of operation of air heaters is as follows: they heat the air, and then disperse it through the rooms with the help of fans. This is the fastest way to warm up a duplex: a high temperature is set almost immediately in the rooms, which is maintained at a predetermined level. The duplex air heating itself may not require connection to the mains, but work on alternative free energy sources. For example, solar energy.

Heating duplex with solar energy

The main disadvantage of heating systems is the consumption of expensive resources – electricity, solid or liquid fuels. Homeowners pay large bills every year from heat and power companies, and the load on the electrical network increases, which increases the risk of short circuits and fires in the wiring.
The modern solution to this problem is the use of solar heating. Solar equipment works according to a well-known principle: it heats the air and blows it into the rooms. But the heating of air masses occurs due to solar energy. The equipment is autonomous, it does not need to be connected to the mains, it does not load the wiring and works for free. To date, this is the most economical duplex heating.
Benefits of solar heating:

  • Autonomy: no human supervision required.
  • Independence from electrification: heating can be carried out on a non-electrified facility.
  • Free work: expensive energy resources are not spent.
  • Environmental friendliness: devices are safe for humans and the environment.
  • Easy to select and install: no need to order project documentation for installation.

When you need heating in a duplex, the choice in favor of solar-powered appliances is obvious. A wide range of devices allows you to choose solutions for rooms of any size. And the cost of equipment does not exceed the prices of conventional electrical appliances.
